Christmas Supper Dance Friday 13th December 2013

This time of year again and our Christmas Supper Dance is becoming more popular every year.

Fully booked with 121 members and guests attending.

Our regular Christmas band, The Charlie Kirkpatrick Scottish Dance Band, started our feet tapping and filled the floor throughout the evening.

As Charlie continually assures us……….We have been the best audience he has had…..tonight!!!

Our raffle did well, raising £292. Thanks as usual go to all who generously donated and all who bought tickets.

A special thanks to Jean Hutton for the Top Raffle Prize which she again donated - a lovely hamper filled with all manner of goodies.

The night would not have been complete without a visit from the ‘Man in the Red Suit’ and we were not disappointed!  Santa, who had an amazing resemblance to our very own Alex Wright appeared on cue and did an excellent job of distributing good cheer, chocolates and managed a kiss from just about every lady present!  (Have to keep an eye on him!)

The meal this year was served buffet style - a departure from the norm as an experiment. Opinion from those present as to its success or otherwise, came out in favour of the new method.

Comments suggested, that although, inevitably, there will always be some of those present who will be served last, at least the hot food was still hot when they received it.

Therefore, it is likely we we will repeat this set up next year.

Overall, it is fair to say, a great night was had by just about all present and we look forward to seeing everyone at our next function - The Hogmanay Cellidh at Geilston on, let me see - oh yes, the 31st December 2013!!!

Featuring The Stuart McKeown Ceilidh Dance Band.

A ticketed event, 9pm till 2am - Doors open at 8pm and bring your own Food and Drink!
