January 2014 function report

The first dance of 2014 was a busy event with over 90 dancers enjoying the evening.

As it was the nearest function to Burns Night the tables were laid with tartan covers and although there was no haggis the band was appropriately called the Burns Brothers.  They are new to Helensburgh, but provided excellent lively music appreciated by a crowded floor of dancers.

It’s not only the Bard who was born in January because our President Jim Browne also celebrates his birthday this month and he wasn’t allowed to keep it a secret!!

Thanks to everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets for the raffle which raised a magnificent £219.00.

Our next function is a Ceilidh and Dance on 28th February 2014 at the Osprey Suite, Commodore Hotel.  The music for the evening is provided by Andrew Mortimer Scottish Dance Band.  The well known local singer Ainsley Hamil is a guest artiste and a group of young singers and dancers will add to the entertainment. A warm welcome is extended to everyone.
