Ceilidh and Dance Friday 28th February 2014

An excellent turnout for this evening’s Ceilidh Dance with over 100 members and guests.

The Fear an Taigh for the night was Alex Wright who did a good job of introducing the proceedings and entertaining us with his chat and wit!

Music was provided by The Andrew Mortimer Scottish Dance Band - a talented young band and a first for them performing at Helensburgh,

So, well done, with Katie Bremner on the Fiddle, Gordon Mortimer on drums and Andrew himself on accordion.

Our very own Piper, Bruce Shearlaw, gave us another fine perfomance of his selection of tunes on the bagpipes. Once again, thank you for that Bruce.

The Knoxland Entertainment Group charmed us all with their dancing skill and were the

first performers of the evening.

We were also delighted to have Ainsley Hamill, from Cardross, with us, who gave an excellent performance of Gaelic and Scots songs - much appreciated by all present.

Thanks go to all who donated and purchased raffle tickets which raised a healthy £203.

Proceeds will go towards our annual charity donations.

Our next function will take place on Friday 28 March 2014, featuring the  4 piece

Lomond Ceilidh Band

The May A.G.M. will soon be upon us and it would good to hear from any association members who are interested in joining the committee this year. There will be a number of vacancies to fill, so please make yourself known to a committee member if at all interested.
