The function will be held in St Pats Hall, Dumbarton due to the Commodore Hotel function suite

still being unavailable.

12th February 2022

We have just received the belated news that

Mary Gray of Woodburn, Garelochhead. 

Mary sadly died on 14 September 2020, after a hip injury and a short hospital stay. 

Mary was a life member of the association and we are sure she will be remembered by some of the longstanding members.

 

 

 

20th January 2022

 

News just received news of the sad passing of a previous association member, Tommy MacDougal.

Believe Tommy used to sit with Nancy and Tommy MacLelland at our functions, but has not attended for quite a number of years now.

I am sure some of the longstanding members will remember Tommy.

 

 

8th January 2022 

 

I have just received the sad news from Neil McLeod, that Tommy MacLelland, a previously long standing and very popular member of the Association has passed away this week. 

 

The funeral to held at Cardross Crematorium 

1.15pm Monday 24th January

I have just received the sad news from John Johnstone, that Sadie Taylor passed away on Tuesday past.

 

Sadie and her late husband John were popular members of the association for many years.

I have just received the sad news that John Wilson has very recently died.

The funeral service will be held at Cardross Parish Church, 11.30am on Tuesday 16th November.

Thereafter to Cardross Cemetery.

John Wilson, and his wife Eileen joined the association committee in 1988 and remained until 2008.

John took over the position as President from 2000 until 2008, and did an excellent job in that time.

I have just received more sad news from Neil McLeod that Mary MacGhie of Rhu died this week.

 

Mary, with husband Gavin always sat at the table with George and Kathleen Wilson.

Hi Everyone,

 

I have just received the sad news from Neil McLeod that Jim Gilchrist, A longstanding association member, died suddenly, at home yesterday, 21st October.

 

He will be missed by all and particularly of course, in Garelochhead.

Further Update Further update 7th September 2020 

We hope this finds all our members and previous guests safe and well. 

 

Once again, with the continuing Covid-19 restrictions, we are forced to

cancel all of our planned functions for the first half of 2021.

We are unable to resume dances until the situation improves.

We will monitor developments and hopefully resume our dances whenever safe to do so.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Helensburgh & District Highland Association Ceilidh Dance, scheduled for

Friday 27th March 2020 at the Commodore Hotel, Helensburgh.

As a result of the ongoing risk of the Coronavirus infection,

the decision has been taken to cancel the above noted Ceilidh Dance.

Hopefully , we will be able to resume our regular monthly functions 

on the 24th April.

Update - 17/3/20 

 

Unfortunately, and as a result of the further government guidelines,

It has become necessary to also cancel our monthly functions until after the summer break.

We will review the situation as it progresses, but will not be holding any further dances

 until after the summer break this year.

 

 Hopefully resuming functions on Friday 28th August.
