Ceilidh Dance Friday 26th February 2016

Once again, regular reviewer, Bill Irvine, was unable to attend the Dance and therefore unable to write up the report in his inimitable style.   Hurry back Bill - we miss you..

Paying customers were again at a premium this month with only 61 members and guests.   This was a pity as we were entertained by some fabulous artistes.

Our resident Piper, Bruce Shearlaw, started proceedings with a good selection of tunes.

Ryan Young is a virtuoso on the Fiddle and is certainly destined for a bright musical future (He has already come 2nd in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year, and a finalist two years running!).  The effort he puts into his playing is fantastic.

Our singer, Seonaidh Rostant, sang a selection of Scots Songs beautifully with able accompaniment from Sheila Galbraith.  Music for dancing was provided by Stuart McKeown and there is only one word to describe his playing and timing - great!!

The raffle realised £201 which, considering the numbers present, was excellent. Thanks to those who donated prizes and of course, those who bought tickets.

Our next function is scheduled for Friday,25th March. 2016, when the Dance music will be from the Lomond Ceilidh Band,

See you all there.
