JANUARY 2017 DANCE
The first dance of 2017 took place on 27th January in the Osprey suite of the Commodore Hotel, where seventy dancers took the floor to the music of the Ian Anderson Scottish Dance Band . The band comprised Ian on accordion, Gus Millar on drums and Neil MacMillan on keyboard.
A lively programme of dances was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The presentation of the dances in quick-fire, shorter rounds was greatly appreciated.
At the welcome interval, tea, coffee and biscuits were served and the raffle was drawn. The wonderful amount of £200 was raised and will be added to the current amount of money raised for charity.
As usual, the second half of the evening passed all too quickly and it was soon time for President John Johnston to close proceedings with votes of thanks to all who had contributed to the success of the evening.
The next event will be a Ceilidh/dance evening and will take place on Friday 24th February, when the band will be the Stuart McKeown Scottish Dance Band. The guest artistes will be the popular sisters team of Emma and Rachel Deans, so a great evening is guaranteed.
